Addiction Medicine
We will be closed on Saturday July 13, 2024.
Our medical practice is limited to people having
trouble with opioids. Opioids are drugs such as heroin, fentanyl,
OxyContin, Percocet, morphine and Dilaudid.
When people first come to the office, a complete assessment is done.
This includes a detailed look at a person's drug use and past medical history.
A physical examination is done as well as urine and blood tests.
After the assessment is completed, we will discuss options for treatment.
This may include medications to help detoxify people
off of opioids, or Substitution Therapy.
Substitution therapy consists of prescribing Suboxone or methadone.
These are opioids that do not make people high.
They are safe, legal, affordable, keep people out of
withdrawal and block the high from other opioids.
People stay on these medications for as long as they feel they need them.
